Advice first, hands-on help where it makes sense. I start with advice. If your project needs physical work I don't do, like running cable, I'll help you find a qualified contractor and review their quotes. If the groundwork is already in place, I can often handle the setup remotely, or walk you through it, for a flat or hourly fee.

What I don't do. I don't provide ongoing IT support or managed services, hardware repair, data recovery from failed drives, or physical installation like running cable. If you need those, I'll help you work out what to look for and point you in the right direction.

Remote by design. Almost all of my work is done by phone, video call, and secure screen sharing, so you don't need to be nearby. I work with clients anywhere in the United States, and in person in the Farragut and Knoxville, Tennessee area.

Questions

Before you book

What should I bring to the free call?

Just a rough description of what's frustrating you or what decision you're facing. If you have a list of the tools, devices, or vendors involved, that helps, but it isn't required.

Is my information kept private?

I treat what you share as confidential. Please share only information you are authorized to disclose, and avoid sending passwords or other credentials.

What if you can't help with my problem?

I'll tell you plainly on the free call. If I'm not the right fit, or there's a conflict of interest, I'll say so and point you in a better direction when I can.

When do I pay?

Not during the free call. If there's a fit, we agree on what we'll do, what you'll get, and the price before any paid work begins.

My why

Meet Matt

Technology has fascinated me since I was a kid, but what keeps me in it is the people. For as long as I can remember, I've been the one friends, family, and colleagues call when something breaks, when a purchase feels overwhelming, or when they just want someone they trust to explain what's going on.

I love learning how things work, and I've spent 30 years doing it. I've built custom PCs, set up home networks, and designed networks for organizations from small businesses to enterprises with more than 100,000 employees.

Valor Knight is where those two things come together. A knight's job isn't to impress anyone. It's to stand beside people, keep a steady head, and do right by them. I'll listen first, explain things plainly, and give you honest options you can act on, whether or not they involve me.

Outside of work, I'm usually outdoors with my wife, working on cars, traveling, or playing video games.
