Do you install things or just advise?
I start with advice. When the groundwork is already in place, for example cabling already run for security cameras, I can often handle the setup remotely, or walk you through it, for a flat or hourly fee. For physical work like running cable, I'll help you find a qualified contractor and review their quotes. You hire and pay any contractor directly.
What if something has just broken, or I think I have a virus?
If you suspect a virus, disconnect the device from the internet and avoid signing in to accounts on it. If files are missing, stop using the device and don't reformat or reinstall. Then reach out. I offer PC clean-up and virus removal as a flat-fee package, and if it's not the right fit, I'll help you decide whether you need a local repair or data-recovery service.
Do you work remotely or in person?
Almost all of my work is remote, by phone, video call, and secure screen sharing, so you can be anywhere in the United States. If you are in the Farragut or Knoxville, Tennessee area and something really needs someone in the room, I can often come to you.
How do remote sessions work, and are they safe?
You start every session by booking with me, and I send the session link directly to you at the time we've agreed. Sessions run on Zoho Assist, a widely used remote support tool: you click the link, enter your name, and join. You can watch everything I do and end it at any time. I will never contact you out of the blue, ask for your passwords, or ask you to install anything unrelated to our session. When we finish, I close the connection, I don't keep access to your computer, and you can remove the Zoho Assist app afterward.
When do I pay?
Not during the free call. If there's a fit, we agree on what we'll do, what you'll get, and the price before any paid work begins.
